Save Sharks

The Sound of Sunshine by Michael Franti & Spearhead

Actually, I already posted something about IYLC. But then I saved it on draft again since I think the story's incomplete. Alright so, one quite random thing I did on the last day of IYLC was asking a few people to join in Save Sharks campaign by posing in front of my camera holding a paper written with "SAVE SHARKS". Not only the youth, but also some old people(receptionist in the hotel where we stayed). Not only Indonesian, but also a foreigner. I think this is amazing how new people I met at the conference still have a willing to, at least, care about this Save Sharks issue. This is an important thing really. Believe me or not, sooner or later if we do not take any action(whatever it is, by joining this campaign, writing article about sharks, doing research, and so on) it means that we have lost our responsibility to keep the balance of human - nature. Moreover, on Marine Biology class with my lecturer, Ms. Nirwani, we learned that in a food chain, sharks belong to the group of predator. The small ones are Tertiary consumer, which means they could be a herbivore or omnivore and the big ones are Quaternary consumer which consume the small sharks. Imagine if people keep consuming small sharks, what the big ones will get then? Do you ever feel hungry? How do you feel when you can not find any food while you're so starving that time? Even though you got a lot of money in your pocket but there's nothing you can eat. You feel horrible, sad, confused, depressed and stress, right? That also happens to sharks.
Yes we support this campaign!
One last thing before I end this post, would you please give a sign in Save Sharks petition? Every signature means a lot :) Here:
